With lyrical writing, an atmospheric setting and a touch of magic throughout the story, it was a fantasy lovers dream! Diving into the reading experience was so much fun and I am always eager to see what Seanan comes up with. I was expected to love this novel, as I have loved every novel in the series, but this one along with Down Among the Sticks and Bones have definitely cemented themselves as my favourites.Īs with all of Seanan McGuires novels, In An Absent Dream was absolutely beautiful to read.
In An Absent Dream is book four in the Wayward Children series, and is a prequel for one of the characters introduced to readers in Every Heart A Doorway. Lundy learns quickly that everything costs at the goblin market, and when her time is drawing to a close, she makes the ultimate bargain.
Lundy is predictable and always follows the rules, but when she finds a doorway to a world founded on logic, reason, and fairness, she thinks she has found paradise. In An Absent Dream is beautiful, fantastical and MAGICAL! Another story in the Wayward Children series that I couldn’t help but adore!
